In 2026, electronic invoicing stops being optional in Morocco. The DGI mandate will reach every VAT-registered business - from solo freelancers to accounting firms managing dozens of clients.

When I looked at what was available to help, I found two kinds of tools: enterprise systems priced for multinationals, and generic foreign software that doesn't speak our languages, our formats, or our tax rules. For the SMEs and independents that make up most of Morocco's economy, there was nothing.

So I built Hisab: a platform that produces DGI-ready invoices in UBL 2.1 and CII formats, works in Arabic, French and English, and costs a fraction of the enterprise alternatives. Built from scratch, in Morocco, for how Moroccan businesses actually work.

Hisab launched at the start of 2026. More than 250 businesses have signed up since - with zero marketing.
